First conceptualized in the early 1990s, Bonifacio Global City—also known as BGC, The Fort, or Fort Bonifacio—is one of Metro Manila’s most important central business districts (CBD). It is now home to numerous office skyscrapers, international schools, shopping malls and complexes, and countless condo developments. It is unsurprising that BGC is now one of the most highly sought-after places in Metro Manila to buy a home, not bad for a location that is a practically empty military camp 25 years ago.
Being one of the most preferred addresses in Metro Manila nowadays, Bonifacio Global City is home to numerous condo developments, from the very high end to mid-end and affordable. At the expensive end of the spectrum in BGC are some of Metro Manila’s most well-known condo developments, including Essensa Private Residences, One and Two Serendra, Regent Parkway, Pacific Plaza Towers, Bellagio I, II, and III, and Arya Residences, among others. More affordable condo options, on the other hand, include Fifth Avenue Residences, Fairways Tower, Fort Palm Spring, Grand Hamptons, and Sapphire Place, to name just a few.
Why live in BGC
True to its mission to promote wellness, BGC is truly a walkable city. It has tight grid networks where everything is within a few minutes away on foot, whether it’s a public park, a cinema, a restaurant, an office tower, a school, or a hospital. Impeccably master-planned, BGC has everything every resident possibly needs. In areas close to 5th Avenue and 32nd Street one will find most of BGC’s office buildings and skyscrapers, many of which are BERDE- and LEED-certified and the headquarters of many local and multinational corporations, including Coca-Cola, French pharmaceutical giant Sanofi, American camera-maker GoPro, and Ayala-owned Globe Telecom. BGC’s central section is its shopping and commercial core, anchored by the kilometer-long Bonifacio High Street, which runs from 5th Avenue (just across Shangri-La at The Fort) to The Shops at Serendra at 11th Avenue. This area is sandwiched by many upscale condo developments and office skyscrapers, most notable of which include Alveo Land’s High Street South Block and Ayala Land Premier’s East and West Gallery Place. In addition, the area around 5th Avenue close to Shangri-La will eventually become BGC’s financial core, which will be the location of the soon-to-open unified trading floor of the Philippine Stock Exchange. It is in this area where one will find some of the most high-end (and expensive) condo properties for sale in BGC.
One of the high-end condos in BGC developed by Ayala Land is One Serendra. In this seven-tower condo development (East Tower, West Tower, Jasmine, Mahogany, Bamboo, Narra, and Palm), one will find some of the best condos for sale in Taguig, including a three-bedroom condo apartment listed for Php70 million. One Serendra’s sister development, Two Serendra is a project of Ayala Land subsidiary Alveo Land, and is composed of four high-rise (Red Oak, Meranti, Aston, and Sequoia) and five mid-rise towers (Almond, Belize, Callery, Dolce, and Encino). The development is flanked by 11th Avenue, 26th Street, and McKinley Parkway, and is situated across SM Aura Premier. A typical one-bedroom, 58-sqm condo for sale in Two Serendra is listed for Php11 million, while a 76-sqm studio unit for sale, which comes with two parking slots, costs Php13.5 million.
