Each day, Ortigas Center is filled with hundreds of people heading back and forth their respective workplaces in the buzzing neighborhood. Thankfully, there are many restaurants within the area – some even conveniently located at the ground floor of office towers – where people can satisfy their cravings and have a delicious and hearty meal.

Whether you’re in the mood for all-day breakfast, bistro favorites with a twist, or authentic Japanese, there’s a place for all your cravings in Ortigas Center.

Here are some of the best places for lunch in the neighborhood:

The Stockpile

From the woman behind Sunshine Kitchen in BGC comes The Stockpile, Chef Tanya Chua’s restaurant venture located in The Sapphire Bloc in Sapphire Road, Ortigas Center. Unbeknownst to some, the bistro, which is a favorite after-work hangout, is also open for lunch, serving their mashup of savory dishes from different cuisines.

Among the lunch favorites at this pub-bistro are the Salisbury Steak with Rice, which is served with a moist, all-beef patty sitting on a plate with gravy and rice, and the Truffled 4 Cheese Pasta with Smoked Bacon which is a definite hit for truffle lovers. The restaurant also serves lunch plates of their best-selling dishes to share like their Beer Braised Beef Belly served with cerveza negra gravy, 6 Hour Slow Roasted Panchetta with French beans, and the Pan Roasted 24 Hour Brined Double Cut Pork Chop which can be enjoyed either with rice or potatoes.

Each dish in The Stockpile is sure leave diners fully satisfied, but they can opt to cap off their meals with coffee or tea from the restaurant’s partner, Local Edition.

B&P All Day Breakfast

B&P All Day Breakfast is located at the ground floor of Cyberscape Alpha along Garnet Road, Ortigas Center. The cozy restaurant has been around since 2014 and is run by B&P themselves – or Bea and Pia, the granddaughters of Annie Pascual-Guerrero who founded the Cravings Group. The restaurant, known for serving breakfast favorites and other comfort food, is a two-storey hideout for people to have a laid-back and satisfying lunch.

The menu at B&P is straightforward and simple. Their best-selling rice bowls can be customized; if one wants to have their pork tocino served with adobo rice, they can simply request it upon ordering. Each rice bowl is also served with an egg, vegetables, and kimchi creating mix of rich flavors in each bite. Meanwhile, B&P’s fried chicken is also a lunch favorite. Individuals can order a two piece meal or share a half chicken order with their friends.

To end the meal, diners can order from their wide range of desserts and pair it with a cup of coffee.

Marufuku

Perhaps the most well-known Japanese restaurant in the area, Marufuku is located at the ground floor of Crescent Building in San Miguel Avenue but entrance is at the back through Amethyst Street. The mid-size restaurant has an open kitchen where diners can watch the head chef in action. It’s the most convenient place to get Japanese food mid-day, especially since it’s near the business district.

The menu doesn’t deviate from traditional, and that’s what makes Marufuku dependable. But first time diners are also encouraged to try their other offerings. They have a number of noodle soup dishes on their menu, an elaborate seafood menu, and many options for robotoyaki or charcoal grilled skewers that are a hit among their regulars.
