A Night of Life and Vibrancy at PAREB-PMRB President’s Ball

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – The Pasay Makati Realty Board (PAREB-PMRB) hosted the President’s Ball on July 28, 2015 at The Blue Leaf Events Pavilion to celebrate their general gathering with life and vibrancy. The event was attended by over a hundred PMRB platinum members, members, guests and CRES passers.

The program was graced by no other than Senator JV Ejercito Estrada who shared to the audience his personal experience in the real estate industry before he entered politics. In his brief talk, he emphasized three points about real estate in the Philippines: (1) Power crisis is a major problem to the real estate industry and must be addressed; (2) Infrastructure is one of the leading drivers in boosting economy. To sustain this growth, urban congestion may be controlled by developing properties in the countryside. A better railway system must be established to allow easier transportation of goods and a cheaper cost of living to support this vision, and lastly (3) The Local Housing Board Bill, which Sen. Ejercito authored, aims to institutionalize affordable local housing in 144 cities and in at least 700 first to third class municipalities country.

Moreover, the senator briefly discussed other matters such as the importance of mixed-used development in the country and also mentioned about the advancement of San Juan City as a business-friendly community and as one of the most progressive municipalities in the Philippines.

Following Sen. Ejercito’s speech, the stage was honored by the presence Ms. Vicky Silvano, the Vice Chairwoman of Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA). Ms. Silvano stated in her speech about the significance of being a licensed real estate broker to standardize real estate in the Philippines. The Asian Real Estate Association of America is a nonprofit professional trade organization dedicated to promoting sustainable homeownership opportunities in Asian American communities, and Ms. Silvano is the first Fil-American to be vice chairman to AREAA.
