Hoppler Dialogues Addresses TRAIN Law Effects on Philippine Real Estate

Hoppler Dialogues held the second of its series of talks for real estate professionals last Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Aura Premiere, Bonifacio Global City. Entitled A Legal Counsel on Philippine TRAIN Law, invited industry experts presented attendees with a comprehensive look at the effects of the updated TRAIN Law implemented at the onset of 2018.

Hoppler CEO Ramon Ballesca Jr. opened the program by welcoming guests with a brief introduction of Hoppler.

One of four invited speakers, Hardy H. Lipana, current President and CEO of Conveyance Realty Services, broke down TRAIN Law Amendments on Estate Tax, with regard to updated rates, allowable deductions, and administrative provisions.

A CPA-Lawyer for more than 9 years, Atty. Cesar Nickolai Soriano discussed effects of TRAIN Law on real estate brokers by taking an in-depth look at income tax, withholding tax, and VAT.

Research Manager at Colliers International Philippines, Joey Roi Bondoc presented a property market overview for the first quarter of 2018 on both the office and residential sectors.

Finally, Atty. Christopher Ryan Tan, the current vice president of Center for Housing and Independent Research Synergies, Inc. (CHAIRS), highlighted the effects of TRAIN Law on residential real estate, particularly on the exemption of VAT on housing and its consequences on the market.

At the conclusion of the talks, a panel discussion was conducted to give attendees of the seminar a chance to ask questions to the speakers. After which, each speaker was presented with an honorary plaque for sharing their knowledge and expertise that afternoon.

Winners of the raffle received a P10,000.00 gift certificate courtesy of Elementary Design Group and an Insta 360 camera from Digital Walker.

The event was concluded by Hoppler President and COO Raymond Gonzalez.

The event was graced by more than a hundred real estate professionals who were given a chance to address any questions they had about TRAIN Law while learning from the panel of experts. Additionally, attendees received freebies from our partners at Digital Walker and The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf.
