Megaworld Builds Fourth Township in Pampanga
Megaworld Corporation allots a P10-billion fund over a 10-year period for the development of its township project in the city of San Fernando in Pampanga. Having an estimated 35.6 hectares of land sitting beside the provincial capitol, Megaworld’s 19th township development will cover both for residential and the business-process outsourcing industry.
According to Megaworld’s Senior Vice President Jericho Go, “This is the perfect time and opportunity to be present in this progressive province, where else but right at the heart of the provincial capital, which is a prime location for an urban township development.”
He further stated that just like Megaworld’s other townships, the project will integrate residential, office, commercial, retail and institutional components. The business process outsourcing sector is seen to have potential growth in provinces nearing Manila. “As we see a potential pool of skilled talents for the BPO sector in the province, we are certain to build a cyberpark, bring in our partner-locators to the township and generate thousands of jobs for the people of Pampanga,” Go said.
The said township is about 70 kilometers away from Manila and roughly 20 km away from Clark International Airport.
The township in Pampanga is the fourth township project to be developed by Megaworld this year. On early 2015, the developer started two townships in Negros Occidental – the Northill Gateway with about 50 hectares, and the Upper East having 34 hectares. Another township in Santa Barbara in Iloilo will rise and be called Santa Barbara Heights at about 170 hectares. Adding 400 hectares to Megaworld’s portfolio from these new developments, the developer’s total township land area is estimated to be at 3,100 hectares by the end of the year.
