The interior of the cabin was re-designed by architect Andreas Tingulstad, who cleverly maximized every square inch of the small cabin. This gorgeous, rustic cabin is tucked away in the rolling hills of California’s Paso Robles wine valley. The cabin was a former military bunker from the 1970’s that has since been moved and renovated. The cabin has a dark-wood exterior and a beautiful outdoor space with a gas fire pit and BBQ. Inside the cabin, the walls are painted in a rustic coffee-color and there’s plenty of shabby-chic furniture.

5. Unique Cob Cottage, Mayne Island, British Columbia

The Cob Cottage in Mayne Island was once listed as one of the top wishlisted Airbnbs in the world and it’s easy to see why. It’s a rustic retreat that has been hand-sculpted with local, natural materials. The cabin has a large, curved ceiling which gives it an interesting, mushroom-like appearance. The interior of the cabin features a rustic design, with rickety stairs that lead to a bedroom located on the second floor.

6. Incredible A-Frame Cabin, Steven’s Pass, Washington

This stunning A-Frame Cabin showcases cabin architecture at its best. The hut is located in a peaceful woodland near to the Steven’s Pass Ski Resort in Washington. It’s 1,100 square feet and has been built in a classic A-shape design, with enormous windows that reach to the roof. It has a large living room, complete with a stand-alone fireplace that you can snuggle up beside after a long day exploring the woodlands and nearby mountains. The cabin can sleep up to six guests across two bedrooms.

7. Black Cabin, Mosfellsbaer, Iceland

This newly renovated beach-front cabin in Mosfellsbaer, Iceland, is the perfect place to visit during the winter. The wooden cabin has been painted black and dark green, mirroring the black-sand, volcanic beaches of Iceland. The cabin features an open-plan living room complete with a cozy fireplace and it can sleep up to four guests.

8. Serenity Cabin, Huntsville, Ontario

The incredible Serenity Cabin sits in a secluded location, right by Otter Lake in Huntsville. It’s a serene place, with only kayaks, canoes and sailboats passing through — meaning there is virtually no man-made noise. The cabin sleeps up to 12 people and features 25 foot-high ceilings with an A-shape design. There’s tons of space in the cabin, and the owners have kitted it out with yoga mats, a ping-pong table and an outside bonfire space.
