Your garage is one of the overlooked spaces in the house. Many people see it as the area to park your vehicle. You drive in, park and leave it as it is. You do an occasional cleaning and dusting and that’s it. No wonder the garage is not as exciting as other parts of the house.

You should not overlook your garage. Look at it as your sanctuary. It is a place where you can lose yourself. It can be your man cave. It can be your place to unwind and relax after a hard day’s labor. It is a special place that demands your attention and care.

Your garage is a reflection of how you care for your vehicle. A messy garage screams that you don’t care for your car. A poorly lit space does not reflect well on you. Disorganized boxes and tool boxes shout that you are untidy. Whether you like it or not, as a man, your garage reflects your personality.

Here are some tips and considerations for you to improve your garage. They will take some time. They will need some resources. In the end, it will all be worth it.

Storage – Aside from your tools, the garage serves as a store-room for other stuff. Make sure you have cabinets – built-in or modular – to place them in. Label containers and boxes to keep it organized. Make the garage tidy, like you do in other parts of the house.

Personal touches – Treat the garage as your canvas. You can place posters or frames on the walls. A lot of people hang tin advertisements and memorabilia. Some even install bars and sound systems. Your garage should be as comfortable for you as possible.
